Adjustable Track options

An adjustable track is ideal for homes where a door or access to a room is located near the stairs, and where the track might get in the way. Many people assume they canot have a stairlift due to the access required but there are a variety of options available to you ensuring you can continue to use the stairs in the home you love.

There are 3 types of hinge track which may be available, a manual hinge track, a slide track or a powered hinge track

Manual Hinged Track

A manual hinged track allows you to raise and lower the track by hand when you need access to the door or walk way. This hinge has a gas strut which makes it light and easy to lift.

Please note that all manual hinges have a weight limit of 19 stone.

Slide Track

The slide track for straight stairlifts is a ground breaking design which removes the need for a hinged track, yet still takes up minimal space .

This unique solution removes the need for a hinge, instead the track moves up the staircase at the same time as the seat is moving, leaving the doorway at the base of your stairs unobstructed. The slide track works automatically when the toggle or remote control is activated.

The Slide Track is fitted with safety sensors at either end, these will halt the track if it encounters an obstacle during use.

Powered Hinge Track

Some of our stairlifts can also come with a powered hinge if required. This means that the hinged track will lift/lower automatically when using the toggle on the stairlift, ideal if you struggle with bending to operate the manual hinge track.
